On 28 October 2026 Pearson VUE's ISC2 locator listed one Pune centre: Pearson Professional Centers-Pune, in Tower 2 of the World Trade Center, Kharadi. The next nearest is Mumbai, in Andheri East.

ISC2 Pune chapter

ISC2's chapter directory lists Pune as an official chapter (earlier lists showed it as chartering). Its website (isc2chapterpune.org) describes monthly webinars called CyberInsight Sessions, panel discussions, mentoring, certification study groups, and member meetings at partner venues across the city. Its past webinars are on the chapter's YouTube channel, and the site gives a contact address for membership.

Of the chapters we checked, Pune's is the one that names certification study groups outright, so ask whether a CISSP group is running before you start your own.

null Pune

null (n|u) lists an active Pune chapter with 89 past events when we checked, plus student chapters at SCIT and at Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering. The meet-ups lean technical, which helps with networks and testing.

OWASP Pune

OWASP Pune's chapter page names its leaders and links to its Meetup, LinkedIn and Telegram groups for event news. Its talks are a practical companion to Software Development Security.

Where CISSP fits in Pune's market

Pune's security work comes from two worlds. IT services and GCCs in Hinjewadi, Kharadi and Magarpatta serve global clients who send security questionnaires and audit requests. Automotive and manufacturing firms around Chakan and Pimpri-Chinchwad need people who can secure plants and supply chains as well as offices.

That mix rewards a credential that spans governance and engineering. For the information security manager role, AmbitionBox (updated 27 October 2026) shows Pune at ₹14.6 to ₹18 lakh a year across 198 reported salaries. National figures by experience and industry are on CISSP salary in India.

If you come from delivery or project management rather than engineering, you are not at a disadvantage: the exam is a management exam. Start with CISSP for non-technical professionals.

Studying around a Pune week

• Make the Hinjewadi commute count. Traffic to and from the IT park is slow and unpredictable; a few minutes of flashcards in a cab or company bus adds up across a week.
• Use the monthly chapter webinar as a checkpoint. Finish one domain before each session.
• Keep weekends for one long block. A Saturday morning full-length rehearsal is worth more than several scattered hours.

Bootcamp or online adaptive prep?

Pune has in-person and live-online bootcamps, and many IT services firms buy them in bulk for staff. If your employer offers a seat, take it, but plan for the weeks after it ends.
