Free CISSP tools

These free CISSP® tools answer the four questions most candidates ask before they start: how the adaptive exam feels, whether they qualify, how to plan the weeks, and what it will all cost. Each one uses the exam rules ISC2 publishes, says which outline it follows, and explains its result.

How we build them

  • Facts from one place. Every exam number in these tools, from the 100–150 question range to the fees, comes from a single fact file that we check against ISC2's pages. Facts were last checked on 28 October 2026.
  • Our own questions only. The CAT demo uses a small, fixed set of our own study questions, never anything from the live exam.
  • Honest limits. Each tool says what it cannot tell you. A five-minute demo is not a readiness verdict, and an eligibility check is not an endorsement decision.
  • The outline they follow. The tools use the outline in force since 15 April 2024. On 15 April 2027 they switch to the new weights; see 2027 changes.

When to use each one

Before you commit. The eligibility checker and the cost calculator answer the practical questions: can I sit the exam, and what will it cost me in rupees, dollars, euros or pounds. If you are asking an employer to pay, the calculator's total is the figure to put in the request.

On day one of studying. The CAT simulator demo gives you a first feel for adaptive testing and a rough sense of your level. Take it before you build a plan, so you know whether to plan for three months or six.

When you set a date. The study plan generator turns a date and your weekly hours into a calendar you can follow, with rehearsals already in place.

What the tools do not do

They do not replace preparation, and none of them predicts your result. They use published rules and our own question set, and they say so. When you want a plan that adapts to your answers, full rehearsals and a readiness estimate built from weeks of evidence, that is what the full platform is for.

Where to start

New to the CISSP? Run the eligibility checker first, then read how the CISSP exam works. Already studying? Take the CAT demo to feel the format, then build a dated plan.

Next steps

When a tool's answer leaves you wanting a full plan, rehearsals under exam rules and a readiness estimate, request your invite.
