On 28 October 2026 Pearson VUE's ISC2 locator listed one Mumbai centre: Pearson Professional Centers-Mumbai, in Solitaire Corporate Park on the J B Nagar Link Road, Chakala, Andheri East. The next nearest is Pune, in Kharadi.

Andheri East is well connected for the western suburbs and by Metro Line 1, but a trip from Navi Mumbai, Thane or South Mumbai at peak hour needs a generous buffer. ISC2 Mumbai chapter

ISC2's chapter directory lists Mumbai as an official chapter (earlier lists showed it as chartering). The directory did not give a chapter website when we checked, so use the directory's contact route or ISC2's Asia-Pacific chapters committee to reach it. ISC2 says you do not need to be a member to join an established chapter, and each chapter sets its own dues.

null Mumbai

null (n|u) lists an active Mumbai chapter with 150 past events when we checked, the second-highest of the six metros after Bengaluru. Its meet-ups are a good way to meet practitioners from banks and fintechs.

OWASP Mumbai

OWASP Mumbai's chapter page says it was rebooted in August 2019 and holds talks once a month on the fourth Saturday. Check its Meetup group for the current schedule before you plan around it. The talks are a practical companion to Software Development Security.

Start a study group

Many Mumbai candidates work in the same few business districts. A lunchtime or post-work circle at Bandra Kurla Complex or Lower Parel can work well; our study group guide shows how to run one.

Where CISSP fits in Mumbai's market

Mumbai is home to the Reserve Bank of India and to SEBI, and to many of India's large banks, insurers, brokers and market institutions. Regulation shapes security work here. SEBI's Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience Framework (CSCRF), issued on 20 August 2024, applies to SEBI-regulated entities, and banks work to the RBI's own expectations. That creates steady demand for people who can run governance, risk, audit responses and incident handling, not just tools.

For the information security manager role, AmbitionBox (updated 27 October 2026) shows Mumbai at ₹14.2 to ₹16.1 lakh a year across 350 reported salaries. Studying on a Mumbai commute

• The local train is a flashcard slot. In a crowded compartment you have one hand and a few minutes; short recall cards suit that. Download them for offline use before you board, since signal drops in tunnels and cuttings.
• Save reading for the quiet hours. Early mornings before the first rush, or after dinner.
• Keep month-end and quarter-end in mind. Banking and markets roles have reporting crunches. Plan lighter weeks around them rather than falling behind.
• Rehearse on a weekend morning at the same time as your booked slot, and review every wrong answer the same day.

Bootcamp or online adaptive prep?

Mumbai has in-person and live-online bootcamps, and many banks have training budgets for them. A bootcamp gives a fixed schedule and an instructor, which helps if your weeks are unpredictable. It is weaker at what comes after: retention over weeks and practice under the adaptive format.
