CISSP in India
CISSP exam cost in India
The CISSP® exam costs $749 in India, because India falls in ISC2's Asia-Pacific pricing region and ISC2 publishes no rupee price. At ₹95 per dollar that is about ₹71,200, or about ₹84,000 if 18% GST is charged. Pearson VUE shows the exact amount, with any tax, before you pay.

The exam fee in rupees
ISC2 sets one standard registration price per region. India uses the Asia-Pacific price, which is the same US dollar figure as the Americas:
| Where you sit the exam | Standard exam price |
|---|---|
| Americas, Asia-Pacific (incl. India), Middle East, Africa | $749 |
| Europe | €719.04 |
| United Kingdom | £606.69 |
Converted at ₹95 to the dollar, the rate we checked on 28 October 2026:
| What you pay | In US dollars | In rupees |
|---|---|---|
| Exam fee before tax | $749 | about ₹71,200 |
| Exam fee if 18% GST is added | $749 + tax | about ₹84,000 |
ISC2's pricing page says prices and taxes depend on where the exam is administered and that Pearson VUE gives the details at registration. So treat the GST line as the likely ceiling, not a promise: the booking screen is the only figure that counts.
Card and currency charges
If your card is charged in dollars, your bank converts the amount at its own rate and usually adds a foreign-currency markup, with GST on that markup. On a payment this size the markup adds up, so before you book read your card's schedule of charges, or use a card or forex card with a low markup.
The other fees you will meet
| Fee | Amount | When |
|---|---|---|
| Annual maintenance fee (AMF) | $135 a year | Paid when you are certified, then each year on your certification anniversary |
| Associate of ISC2 AMF | $50 a year | Only if you pass before you have the experience |
| Retake | The full exam fee again | After a fail; waits apply (below) |
| Rescheduling or cancelling | A fixed fee set by ISC2 | See ISC2's pricing page before you move a booking |
The AMF is one fee per member, however many ISC2 credentials you hold. You also need 120 CPE credits every 3 years to stay certified; many are free through chapter meetings and webinars. More on this in CPE and maintenance.
Retakes cost more than money
| Attempt | Wait before you can book again |
|---|---|
| After failed attempt 1 | 30 days |
| After failed attempt 2 | 60 days |
| After failed attempt 3 | 90 days |
| Limit | 4 attempts in any 12 months |
A retake doubles your exam spend and pushes your result back by at least 30 days. See the retake policy for the detail.

Worked example
Say you plan one attempt, use one study platform and are certified within the year. Your must-pay items are the exam (about ₹84,000 if GST is charged), your card's markup, and the first AMF of $135. Add your study platform. The line that most often breaks a budget is the one you can control: a second attempt at full price. The cost calculator runs these numbers at today's rate.
Ways to save
- Ask your employer. Many Indian organisations fund certifications from a training budget that resets with the financial year in April. Ask before you book, and agree in writing whether a retake is covered. Our promotion guide has a sponsorship request you can adapt.
- Book when you are ready, not when you are anxious. Rehearse under the real rules first in the CAT simulator, and book once your results are steady.
- Buy one good set of practice questions, not five. Overlapping question banks cost more and teach less than reviewing every wrong answer properly.
- Watch the currency line. A low-markup card saves real money on a dollar payment.
- Buy only from ISC2 or a training provider you can verify. Discounted "vouchers" from unknown sellers on social media are a common trap. So are braindump sites, which you should avoid because they breach the ISC2 NDA and can cost you the credential.
